Our next book is an absolute beauty. It is The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo - the story of the Sorenson family (we love a family tale, have you noticed?), exploring the highs and lows of domestic life, from sisterhood, parenthood and adoption to depression, honesty and life’s extreme challenges.

It is a truly gripping read, ready to be inhaled in just a few sittings. And since it’s rather a chunky one, you really get to deep dive into the characters’ narratives and connect with them, despite how problematic they can be at times… In fact, I was left with that ‘what now?’ feeling that really wonderful books leave in their wake.

Like a lot of families, theirs was one that was challenging to be with, but who I missed once they were gone.
