JOEL AND MOLLY’S CALIFORNIA ROADTRIP

Before they were the Beach Boys, they were The Pendletones, and in 1963 they released a smash hit in California. The song was a little bit about love, a lot about surf, and mostly about style.

Last year, we took to Route 101 and fell in love with California the way the Beach boys say you will.

Driving down the 101, the windscreen transforms into a Hollywood production; spectacular slow-motion bends in the road-runner roads that take you from the bay-watch beaches to cowboy deserts, the pink sunset skies which seem to be altered with cinematic effects.  You can't help but be seduced by the backdrop, and like the people around you, feel as though it is your duty to play the role of a Californian dreamer. It's set up for you.

Our Pendletones collection plays homage to the legend that is The Californian Dream, and here are some photos from the trip that got it all started.
